the release of the latest version
of BIO*GATE. BIO*GATE 2.0 is a biometric
authentication and identity management
software solution that incorporates
three important new functionalities
previously unavailable within the
industry including BIO*GATE Group
Administration, group priorities and
authentication classes.
BIO*GATE Group Administration
gives an administrator the ability
to assign an authentication policy
to an entire group as opposed to each
individual of the system. This important
feature is extremely valuable when
the user population is high. Using
group administration, the administrator
can quickly assign biometric authentication
policies based on the individual groups
that users are a member of. The group
administration feature saves considerable
user enrollment time and streamlines
the administration process. BIO*GATE
2.0 is the industry’s first
and only multi-factor authentication
and identity management software product
to incorporate group administration.
The BIO*GATE Group
Priority feature allows users that
are resident in multiple groups to
be assigned different security levels
based on each group they are assigned
to. The value assigned determines
what priority a specific group has
over other groups during the authentication
process. This feature is used in deployments
where users may be logging onto different
systems at different times and multiple
levels of security need to be assigned.
The Authentication
Class feature within BIO*GATE sets
the industry standard with its ability
to assign a type of authentication
(i.e. fingerprint) and dynamically
use the available devices regardless
of brand or location. This industry-first
feature allows the user to logon to
machines at different locations that
utilize the same type but not necessarily
the same brand of biometric device.
This frees the system administrator
to deploy different brands of devices
within a biometric type (such as fingerprint
readers) and take advantage of market
favorable pricing at the time of purchase.
It also saves money by leveraging
technology that is already deployed
on the system.
