Janus
Associates Releases BIO*GATE 1.3 for
Novell®
New Release Supports
Novell NMAS®
Stamford, CT., February
8, 2006…JANUS Associates today
announced the release of BIO*GATE
1.3 for Novell. BIO*GATE 1.3 for Novell
greatly enhances Novell flexibility
by expanding its NMAS-based system
to utilize a vast array of biometric
brands and devices from the single
alternative available today. BIO*GATE
1.3 for Novell accomplishes this by
creating a standardized interface
that is seamlessly integrated with
the authentication and login components
of the NMAS module. BIO*GATE 1.3 for
Novell establishes a biometric system
architecture that gives system administrators
the flexibility to deploy different
brands and types of biometric devices
at multiple locations based on the
level of security needed at each site.
BIO*GATE 1.3 for Novell
gives organizations the ability to
choose multiple biometric manufacturers
who can best satisfy widely divergent
departmental security needs. It supports
all BioAPI compliant devices, reliably
and securely and enables the deployment
of multi-factor, multi-device authentication
systems creating the highest level
of security possible. In addition
to BioAPI, BIO*GATE for Novell also
supports CDSA, and CBEFF standards.
Patricia Fisher, President
of JANUS, states that “BIO*GATE
1.3 for Novell brings customers far
more flexibility and control over
their own NMAS installation than ever
before. Coupled with BIO*GATE 1.3
for Novell’s adherence to world-wide
interoperability standards purchasers
finally have a customized solution
that does not necessitate going back
to the software vendor every time
they wish to upgrade their devices
or types of biometric solutions. As
a result, total cost of ownership
is decreased even while security is
improved.”
BIO*GATE 1.3 for Novell
allows NMAS-based installations to
migrate to biometrics on the customer’s
schedule, as it does not require a
complete conversion of the entire
environment at the same time. Fisher
stated that “today customers
require flexibility of product, ease
of use, and solid code before they
commit to a new solution. BIO*GATE
1.3 for Novell has all these and is
committed to helping customers employ
products that do not become outdated
or require extensive maintenance throughout
their lifetimes.”
All versions of BIO*GATE
support BioAPI-compliant input devices
from leading manufacturers including
Bio-Key®, Secugen®, Identix®,
Cherry®, and others.
